Senior Vice President

Stuart Smith is a Senior Vice President with SWBC Real Estate where he is responsible for identifying new development opportunities, as well as property acquisitions and dispositions.

Mr. Smith brings more than 10 years of commercial real estate experience, which includes participation in more than $230 million of equity invested into commercial real estate transactions, including land developments; multi-family transactions; industrial developments; and the acquisition of stabilized office buildings and retail centers. He has also been directly responsible for a number of functions, including loan originations; financial analysis and underwriting; property acquisitions and dispositions; ground-up developments; asset and property management functions; and project marketing and leasing.

As former Senior Vice President of the HCREA team, Mr. Smith was responsible for investment analysis, financing, due diligence, asset management, and capital sourcing. Before HCREA, he served as Vice President of Acquisitions for HSM Equity Partners, Inc. where he focused on purchasing retail centers and office buildings.

Mr. Smith is a graduate of the University of Alabama, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Commerce and Business Administration, with a double major in finance and marketing and a minor in economics. He is currently licensed as a real estate salesperson in the state of Texas. He is actively involved in the Young Texans Against Cancer, a member of the SMU Real Estate Society, and a member of the Children’s Medical Center - One Society.
